It is the male organ of copulation. Penis consist of three cylinders of erectile tissue Two corpora cavernosa which lie adjacent to each other and a third mass the corpora spongiosum. Corpora spongiosa contains the urethra and is enlarged to form glans penis.

The arteries bring blood to the penis and veins return it. Veins have valves which prevent the blood from leaving the penis-while during active intercourse.

What is prostate?

It is a conical, partly muscular and partially glandular body situated in the pelvis and surrounds the neck of the bladder. It is 4 cms.

transversly and 2 cms vertically. In old age it enlarges and its enlargement causes dribbling of urine. It produces a secretion which forms a part of semen.

What is semen? Is it a vital fluid?

It is a thick, whitish liquid consisting of products of testes. Prostate, seminal vesicles supply the fluid part. Fertility is reduced if count is below 60 million or if more than 20 percent sperms have abnormal heads.
